At the virtually held Public Sector Economics 2023 Conference - Health Systems after the Pandemic held on October 20, 2023, experts analysed the socioeconomic consequences of the pandemic, exchanging knowledge, experiences and possible solutions to the challenges faced by health systems. They discussed, among other things, the vulnerabilities of health systems, (in)equality in the use of health care, health care during a pandemic, (dis)satisfaction of health workers, the effects of gender differences in health, and the role of religion in resistance to vaccination.
After the welcoming by Institute of Public Finance director Vjekoslav Bratić, opening speeches were given by Marko Primorac, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Croatia; Vili Beroš, Minister of Health of the Republic of Croatia; and Gabriele Giudice, Deputy Director of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission and Head of the Department for the Economy of Croatia and Spain.
The keynote lecture entitled "Health Systems after the Pandemic: Building Resilience" was given by Lucie Bryndova, Advisor in the OECD Health Department.
